A Global Plumbing Group which is a multi-brand and multi-channel plumbing business. Its diverse portfolio of brands allows it to reach a broader group of consumers worldwide with an expanded product range to serve all market segments. 

It owns the number-one consumer faucet brand in North America with worldwide brand recognition, holds exclusive contracts with a significant share of the largest home builders and benefits from a flexible global supply chain. The GPG also includes several premium and luxury brands. 


Project Scope

Get Clean: One-time data cleansing of the customer and vendor data which includes data consolidation, data profiling, address cleansing, DNB Credit check, De-duplication of data, business partner structure creation and link the business partners to the respective Customers and Vendors.

Stay Clean: Build and Master data management solution with Data Governance  for Customer and Vendor data for all the regions in the word.  The scope of this project includes build screens for data management, approval workflow for data governance, data security , dashboards and integration of the data to SAP ECC system.

Scope also includes the key features like SAP DQM Microservice integration, DNB integration for credit check and multi lingual support for the following languages – English, French, Spanish and Chinese.


Business Situation

Client’s legacy data in SAP ECC wasn’t consistent and complete. There is no data governance process to maintain the master data (customers and vendors). Migration to SAP4/HANA is in the Client’s road map. Converting the existing customer and vendor data into a structure with Business Partner is one of the key prerequisites to move to SAP4/HANA. Each region (or territory) is following their own process to maintain the master data in SAP ECC, where there is no centralized control or process maintained company wide.

Technical Situation

Chainsys deployed the following tool sets

  • DataZen (Master data management)  - Implemented Forms for data entry, complex approval workflows, data governance, access control, DNB integration for credit check, multi lingual support, custom business data validation, data profiling, data cleansing, and data deduplication
  • DataZap (Integration) – Implemented to do the Data extracts from ECC, integrate the MDM data to ECC, create business partner structures
  • AppVisualize(Reporting) – Audit reports for data governance, statistics on number of requests created / approved / pending and data lineage reports
  • AppAdmin – User administration
