Client Overview

Client is a multinational conglomerate incorporated in New York City and headquartered in Boston and is a market leader in the Power, Renewable Energy, Aviation and Healthcare industries.

Their business segments include - aviation, healthcare, power, renewable energy, digital industry, additive manufacturing and venture capital and finance.

Project Scope

Client’s Oracle EBS ERP system was at the end of its life cycle, which was a risk to business continuity since critical Business Processes were controlled within the ERP. Client decided to re-implement its Oracle EBS application and engaged ChainSys as its data migration partner utilizing the ChainSys dataZap for data migration and reconciliation. The Oracle EBS R12 re-implementation consisted of over sixty five data migration objects covering three primary tracks - Finance; Project & Services and Supply Chain Management. Complexity was added due to the need to accomplish data migration in a short duration with multiple back-to-back test cycles.

Data migration had to work in tandem with application re-design and process re-engineering.

Business Situation

Client had a challenging environment with numerous custom processes in-place and wanted to simplify its business and IT landscape during the Oracle EBS re-implementation. As part of this endeavor, Client was focused on the reduction of customization/CEMLI and global process re-design while following Corporate Mandates on Enterprise Standards, CoA, etc.

Technical Situation

ChainSys deployed DataZap to help solve business & technical shortcomings. Data was directly extracted from the Oracle EBS source system with pre-configured templates. All data transformations were accomplished within the tool and pre-validations were done against the target EBS R12 instance prior to loading data into the target system.
